A few weeks ago, fans received the unfortunate news of Bobby Lashley‘s contract expiring soon. The WWE Universe is speculating about his next destination following his departure from the Stamford-based company. Amid all the chaos, TKO board member The Rock sent a message to The Almighty on social media.
A few days ago, Bobby Lashley shared an emotional post on Instagram featuring his family and children. Despite his departure from WWE, he intends to keep pushing and be a good role model for his kids. Now, he has shared a video clip of himself doing intense training and lifting heavy weights. The Rock praised him and encouraged him to keep moving forward.
Since winning the Philadelphia Street Fight against Karrion Kross‘ The Final Testament at WrestleMania XL, the former military man hasn’t wrestled much. He was supposed to participate in the King of the Ring Tournament but opted out due to an undisclosed injury. His fellow Pride member Angelo Dawkins took his place but was eliminated in the first round by Tama Tonga.
Along with Lashley, MVP, and Tamina are also expecting to depart from WWE after they were not included in the internal roster. The 50-year-old veteran expressed his feelings on social media, saying he was fine with the decision and would continue to move forward. Many fans are clamoring for them to reunite with Shelton Benjamin and reform the Hurt Business in another promotion.
Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell felt that WWE didn’t have anything to do with Bobby Lashley
WWE fans were upset and disappointed with Bobby Lashley’s departure from the Stamford-based company. However, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell believed that it was the right decision. He expressed his honest opinion on The Almighty leaving WWE.
While speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, he compared the situation to expired products in supermarkets. Mantell stated that Lashley was an average talker at best on the mic. Although he acknowledged Lashley as a great guy with an impressive physique, the veteran felt that the former world champion wouldn’t draw any money.
I think the people in creative just said that what else can we do with him? What else? but he's really an average talker and he's just got that great body... a great guy too, but if you keep the same wrestlers over and over when they become like a part of the furniture, they're not going to draw you any money.Dutch Mantell on Bobby Lashley via Story Time with Dutch Mantell
Moreover, Mantell felt that even WWE’s rival company, AEW, wouldn’t know what to do with him if they picked him up. He said that because Lashley was in his late 40s, it was time to hang up his boots and do something else. Only time will tell what the future holds for the former Hurt Business member.
