IDAHO CITY, Idaho (CBS2) — A popular route in the Boise National Forest will be closed to the public next month.
Forest officials said Thursday that they'll be temporarily closing Forest Road 384, better known as Edna Creek road, from Sept. 9 through Oct. 2 to replace culverts and road maintenance.
The Idaho City Ranger District received a federal grant to make the improvements.
“We have a real opportunity to update our most traveled road on the district, and create additional fish habitat for bull trout,” said Brant Petersen, Idaho City District Ranger. “We want to give forest users early notice so they can plan for this temporary closure and access the forest by an alternate route.”
During the closure period, there will be no access to trails or campgrounds.A detour around the closure will be via NFS road 327 “Granite Creek” road to access the North Fork of the Boise River, and the town of Atlanta.
