UFC and Bellator veteran, Rampage Jackson appeared recently in an interview to talk about the current scenarios in boxing and MMA. During the interview, Rampage Jackson talked about fake fights that have taken place previously in MMA promotions to pull larger audiences.
Rampage Jackson is a former UFC light heavyweight champion and a light heavyweight competitor in the MMA promotion, Bellator. The UFC veteran has revealed that MMA promotion, PRIDE FC had previously set up staged some fights to sell stories to the audience about rivalries.
“I know that there have been fake fights in MMA. I’ve never seen a fake fight in the UFC. But PRIDE was all about entertainment,” Rampage said. “All these Japanese fighters were pro wrestlers. Some of those fights were fake. And I’ve seen people hit each other, for real but it’s a fake fight,” Quinton Jackson said. “For example, me and you, we fight and you tell me to take a dive for $10 million. I’ve got to make it look real,” Jackson added.
Rampage Jackson is no stranger to controversial statements. The former UFC champion had called out Jon Jones as the dirtiest MMA fighter he has ever faced. Some of the most notable names in the MMA community have also previously revealed having witnessed fake fights.

“There is only one Conor McGregor. I love Conor McGregor. I love what he represents, he’s big. He has a gigantic brand. And it’s going to be great when he comes back,” Jones told the presser. “He’s going to bring a whole new energy, and even more fans, it’s great for all of us, the sponsors, and the UFC. I wish Conor all the best. I love how he’s living,” Jon Jones added.
Jonny Bones’ return is in talks to become the greatest return as the fight takes place this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. Jones’ opponent, Ciryl Gane is speculated to be the best stylistic matchup in the upcoming UFC 285 event.
