"Saving the Vicky" the white Victorian house on Ustick Road just west of Maple Grove Road, which has been under restoration for several years, caught fire on Friday night.

The owner Shawn Whitaker who was living in the Victorian said he was not in the house at the time of the fire but their three dogs were. They announced Saturday morning on the "Saving the Vicky" Facebook page that two of the dogs died in the fire when they ran to the basement presumably looking for their owner. The third dog remained outside and survived the fire.

Boise Fire Says at 10:15 p.m. on Friday six fire engines and one ladder truck responded to the Victorian house and found it completely engulfed in flames.

Crews worked quickly to get the fire under control within 20 minutes and prevented the spread of the fire to other structures.

Crews remained on the scene overnight to prevent the fire from reigniting.

There were no reported injuries to firefighters or the public.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
