Khamzat Chimaev is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC right now. The Swedish mixed martial artist turned quite some heads upon his arrival in the organization. He is on a four-fight win streak in the UFC, and to everyone’s surprise, he has only absorbed only 1 strike throughout these bouts.
He was calling out for a fight against the top-ranked opponents ever since his arrival, and now he’s finally getting a chance to prove himself against the number 2 ranked welterweight, Gilbert Burns. Khamzat is extremely confident in his abilities, and he believes he would run through Burns, and then he would beat Kamaru Usman to become the welterweight king.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, he said, “I think I have to fight for the title. Who is the next guy out there? Ten fights, 10 finishes. After (Gilbert), 11 fights, 11 finishes. And what are they going to say? The guy is No. 2 in the rankings. Now they talk about, ‘Oh, you didn’t fight somebody in the rankings.’ Now, if I beat this guy… No. 2… what are you going to say?”

Khamzat truly believes he’s the best in the world, and in the same interview, he said, “I feel I could kill everybody, brother. I am the greatest of all-time, brother. I am the best.” Khamzat currently competes at the welterweight and the middleweight division. He plans on becoming the first three-division champ in the UFC, and he wants to prepare for this adventure with the best light heavyweight on the planet.
Talking about his Jones in his recent YouTube video, he said, “It’s Ramadan after the fight. After Ramadan maybe go to some other gyms in some other cities, train there. Maybe go to Henry Cejudo. Maybe I go right to Jon Jones, I said I want to train with him. The guys who he beat, they were monsters, monsters in his division. He didn’t get some easy fighters but he make them easy. A lot of guys who he beat, crazy good guys.”
