The Kansas City Chiefs is definitely a very balanced team. They have good players in every position. Last year, they were clinical and won the Super Bowl. Their primary challenge in this season is to retain the Super Bowl. After their horrific start, they came back and it seems that they will perform well in the coming matches as well.

Recently Nick Wright from his famous podcasting show compared the Chiefs team with the legendary quarterback Tom Brady’s New England team from 2007. Comparing both teams, the analyst said, “The Chiefs are the ’07 Patriots … in Reverse. How about instead of going undefeated until the last game, going undefeated after the first game? That’s way more fun!“

The New England Patriots squad was too good in their 2007 season. They won all 16 games in the AFC East division and won the divisional championship for the sixth time in seven years. They finished their season with 12 wins and four losses. Tom Brady was at his best, as he won the most-valuable-player (MVP) award for the first time.

Since Nick Wright compared the Chiefs with the Patriots, it can be guessed that the analyst meant that the team would provide top-notch performance this season. He also suggested that Mahomes could also be at his best this season and can win another MVP title.

Kansas City Chiefs’ performance this season

Ahead of the season, the Chiefs were suffering from a lot. It was unsure whether they would be having the service of Chris Jones, their defensive tackle. The player was having contract issues with the management.

He did not play in the first game, however, later came back to the field as the team offered him a much better contract. They also missed Travis Kelce in their first game who later came back to the field.

The Chiefs started their campaign with a loss. Nonetheless, when Jones and Kelce came back to the field, they performed significantly well and registered back-to-back wins. Mahomes has also been performing well since the beginning of the season.
