Northside Subdistrict Info
Northside is an game zone for players with 6-14 experience levels.
The Northside Industrial District (NID) was once an important area of Watson with factories employing thousands of Night Citizens. Today it feels neglected and devoid of life. Most of the factories shut down, parts of buildings were damaged by earthquakes and property developments left unfinished. The center of the NID is divided by a row of towering apartment buildings, purposely constructed to shield the wealthy from a pretty depressing view. They're occupied by mid-ranking workers that are still employed by the last remaining industries operating in the NID. With few prospects to cling to, these workers' only hope is that they don't close down, because outside of the NID, there's no future for them. As they say, "You move to northside, you'll die in northside." Often that's just interpreted to mean you'll catch a stray bullet from one the ubiquitous Maelstromers.

The Pickup
Chapter ACT 1
NPC Meredith Stout NPC Jackie Welles NPC Dum Dum NPC Simon Randall "Royce" NPC Anthony Gilchrist
Location Storm Drains Location All Foods Plant
The Pickup is a non-linear Main Job with the main goal of retrieving a Flathead military drone for Dexter DeShawn from the hands of the Maelstrom gang.
First, meet with Meredith Stout, and then do with Jackie to All Foods Plant, decide whether you will buy Flathead peacefully, cheat the Maelstrom with a fake credit chip, or go all the way and collect the drone by force.
Know what I like about your run-of-the-mill gangoons? They know what they like. Cash, sex, power… maybe just the sight of their enemies' blood. Real rays of sunshine, they are. But these Maelstrom cabrones… shit, never can be sure. They look at you with those creepy-ass toaster faces and you can't get a read of 'em, got no clue what twisted thoughts are racin' through their processors. You ask me, that's why biz with Maelstrom never turns out pleasant. But... sometimes there's just no gettin' around it. Let's grab that spiderbot, yeah? Make Dex proud.
A Militech corpo-cunt lost an arms shipment, and if she doesn’t find it, she’ll be paddling up shit-creek with stumps for hands. I’m betting it’s not even about the weapons – Militech could lose a tank and it’d make no difference to them. It’s about principles. One thing’s for damn sure – someone’s talking the fall for this.
Every corp has a Gilchrist. First he steals from them, turns a fat profit on the goods, lies about it, narrowly avoids the chopping block, gets rid of all witnesses, makes someone else take the fall from him, and to top it all off - he gets a promotion. Can't help feeling sorry for the Maelstrom gonks in this scenario... but only a little.
Turns out Meredith Stout will do anything to stay in the corp’s good graces. Unfortunately that means her “colleague” might get demoted… or worse. All in all, Militech recovered their property, putting the Maelstrom freaks in a shittier mood than usual. A day like any other in Night City.

Talk to Bhikkuhu and offer him your help in saving his brother.
Among the handful of things that really piss me off, I'd say pickin' on the little guy for funsies is pretty high on my list. If I could save this monk and scrap a few tinboy Maelstromers along the way, I'd say sign me up. If you feel the same – and hurry your ass up – maybe you can even still save the guy.

01
Gig: Catch a Tyger's Toe
Take the lift to 05: Server Room, find terminal and install Malware.
- Gig type: Agent Saboteur
- Objective: Upload b@d's malware
- Location: Megabuilding H10
b@d got in touch with me. They like short nicknames and simple gigs, so I'll spare you the fixer spiel and get right to the point.
You'll find b@d's malware attached to this message. You have to download it (just be careful – it's hella dangerous) and then upload it to the subnet in the H11 megabuilding. Piece o' cake, right? Sorry to burst your bubble, but you'll have Tygers on the prowl.
b@d's plan is to attack some Arasaka subnet and use H11 as a smokescreen. Clever, right? Instead of leading to them, all traces of b@d's breach'll lead right back to the megabuilding.
FYI, our netrunner already hacked the megabuilding elevator, so getting into the server room won't be a problem.
- Get to the main server.
- Upload b@d's malware to the system.
- Leave the server room.
02
Gig: Many Ways to Skin a Cat
- Gig type: Thievery
- Objective: Steal a Rever Courier Service van
- Location: Revere Courier Services warehouse on Martin St
This isn't gonna be your usual gig. You're gonna go to the Revere Courier Service facility in Northside and steal a minibus full of leather jackets.
Don't worry, I was also scratching my head at first. But the job itself couldn't be simpler.
Someone's smuggling syn-leather combat jackets to NC to get around the corporate embargo. The leather's imported in the form of jackets, which is then distributed to underground ripperdoc that use them for their implants, which are then sold at competitive prices. Quite a supply chain, right? My client tracked down the shipment but can't take care of it on your own. You're her replacement. Just remember that the RCS can't roll until it validates the driver's identity.
Oh and did I mention that the RCS warehouse is controlled by the Tyger Claws? No? Well I'm telling you now. They use it for laundering cash, so don't be surprised to see them prowling around.
Be careful and good luck.
- Go to the Revere Courier Services facility.
- Find the van transporting syn-leather.
- Gain access to the van using the main computer.
- Enter the van.
- Steal the van transporting syn-leather.
- Drive the van to the indicated location.
- Exit the van.
03
Gig: Flight of the Cheetah
- Gig type: SOS: Merc Needed
- Target: Hwangbo
- Location: Sunset Motel, Martin St.
You know that classic comedy setup where a gonk gets into serious trouble and only some, like, misanthropic hardass can save him? Well, let that be your guiding plot for today.
The gonk in question is called Hwangbo. He did some small-time work for the Tyger Claws, but instead of keeping his head down and being patient, he took a shortcut and stole from his own gang. Genius, right? Not only that, but the whole thing had his name written all over it.
Hwangbo's marked for death, meaning he has to disappear – the faster, the better. I already found a nomad smuggler, but someone still needs to get him from one end of the city to the other. But if he's spotted out on the street, the Tyger Claws'll know about it. You know what you gotta do, right? So let's get to it. He's holed up somewhere in the Sunset Motel.
- Meet Hwangbo in room 1237.
- Talk to Hwangbo, convince him to come with you.
- Keep Hwangbo alive.
- Use Hwangbo's car.
- Escort Hwangbo to the meeting with the nomads.
04
Gig: Freedom of the Press
There are a lot of traps and defense turrets in the building, disarm them.
- Gig type: SOS: Merc Needed
- Objective: Rescue Max and bring him to me
- Location: the old broadcast TV in Northside
Night City doesn't like people that like to kick the hornet's nest, and Max Jones... well, he kicked a bunch of 'em at the same time. Kicked them so hard, in fact, that someone put a hit out on him. Thing is, personally, I'd rather he stayed alive.
Max Jones is an old friend from my muckraking days. We co-wrote a podcast about independent farmers who were put out of biz by Biotechnica drones. Those were the days.
Nowadays, Max doesn't even take my calls. He's as stubborn as they come, but now I'm worried he's really lost touch with reality. He probably thinks he can manage perfectly fine on his own, but that's what all young, gonk men think – that they're invincible. Bring him to reason, will ya?
Sending you the coords to his hideout. If I managed to track him down, it's only a matter of time until the others do too.
- Enter the TV studio building.
- Find Max.
- Persuade or force Max Jones to meet with Regina.
- Escort Max outside.
05
Gig: Dirty Biz
- Gig type: Thievery
- Objective: Get the raw BD of the murder of Bryce Stone's son
- Location: Buildings off Shipyard Way
My good friend, the televangelist Bryce Stone (don't ask, it's complicated) needs our help. His little boy was kidnapped and brutally murdered a few days later. The NCPD dropped the case due to lack of evidence. Bryce decided to take matters into his own hands and found the BD scroll of his murder, but the virtu's heavily edited, meaning there aren't a lot of clues to go on. If you could get your hands on the raw cut there's a chance we could identify the murderer.
The virtu was put out by two XBD tuners (Gottfrid and Fredrik) in Northside. I'm betting they still have the original somewhere. Just watch out for the Maelstromers that are guarding them.
- Find Gottfrid and Fredrik's studio.
- Find the XBD recording.
- Take recording BD_9430.
- Deposit the recording in the Drop Point.
- Leave the area.
06
Gig: Rite of Passage
- Gig type: Thievery
- Objective: Steal a recording of Maelstrom's initiation rite
- Location: Daniels St.
Got some paparazzo work for ya. Need to get my hands on a recording of the Maelstrom initiation "ceremony." TLDR to get into the gang you need undergo an optic nerve split operation – a rite of passage, of sorts. Footage of the whole thing, that's what I'm paying for.
Got a tip you can find just such a reel at the HeavenMed clinic – it's the place they put all the new recruits under the knife for the first time. Op rooms are all fitted with cams too. Could be a file, an entire disk, access to the servers – I don't care. What matters is that footage. Get it done.
- Go to the Maelstrom ripperdoc clinic.
- Steal the surgery recording.
- Escape from the clinic.
- Call fixer about stolen recording.
- Deposit the recording in the Drop Point.
07
Gig: Lousy Kleppers
- Gig type: Thievery
- Objective: Steal the databank with the transport route data from Malorian Ltd.
- Location: Warehouse, Offshore St.
V, big news going around town. A Malorian van was stolen on Sir Francis Drake avenue. Maelstrom claimed responsibility.
It just so happens that one of my informants saw the whole thing, and he was smart enough to tail them using a drone.
Hard part's over – we already know where they've stashed the van. I'd say we got lucky, but the truth is my people know how to get shit done. OK, OK, I'll quit flattering myself.
Go to the chop shop and find a databank in the van that has Malorian's transport route data. The gangers have no idea it's worth more than the all the cargo they're sitting on.
- Get inside the Maelstrom warehouse.
- Remain undetected.
- Find the databank from the Malorian van.
- Leave the area.
- Deposit the databank in the Drop Point.
08
Gig: Hippocratic Oath
- Go to the Clean Cut building.
- Find Lucy.
- Talk to Lucy Thackery.
- Scan the patient.
- Pick up the synthetic blood / Pick up the clotter.
- Inject the patient with synthetic blood / Inject patient with the clotter.
- Persuade Lucy to leave.
- Rescue Lucy Thackery.
- Escort Lucy Thackery outside.
- Escort Lucy to the fixer's transport.
09
Gig: Occupational Hazard
- Gig type: SOS: Merc Needed
- Target: Hal Cantos
- Location: Mox warehouse on Longshore North
Got a call from a Hal Cantos – guy's a known quantity in the area, crack BD tuner, used to work for WNS news 'til he got axed for fraud. His biz is strictly street now. Like it even matters...
Hal's got himself in an interesting sich. He was tuning a BD for The Mox and must've fucked up, 'cause one of the girls went off the handle after she put on the wreath – started screaming and shooting at everything that moved. Hal managed to find a place to hide, but it's only a matter of time before she gets him. You're gonna make sure that doesn't happen.
Sending you the warehouse coordinates where Hal's holed up. Again, in case you missed it, there's an ACTIVE SHOOTER in the building. Go in with your iron at the ready. Eddies'll reach you only if Hal makes it out alive.
- Enter the Mox warehouse.
- Hack into the Moxes' subnet to weaken the cyberpsycho.
- Neutralize the cyberpsycho.
- Check girl upstairs, talk to her
- Find Hal Cantos - he is inside the blue container on the ground floor.
- Talk to Hal Cantos, also about girl.
- Save Hal Cantos.
- Leave the Mox warehouse.

Gig: Scrolls Before Swine
- Gig type: Thievery
- Target: CCTV footage
- Location: Maelstrom warehouse on the corner of Industrial and Eisenhower St.
Client is Aaron McCarlson, NCPD sergeant. Used to work for me as a consultant on the show "Cops 'n' Chops" (8 seasons!!) and is asking for a favor.
Aaron's been digging into Maelstrom for a while now - says he found the warehouse where they torture people. But you know how it is for badges - law slows them down with mountains of paperwork, so if they want to get something done, they have to get creative. Aaron knows that, which is why instead of waiting for fat-assed judges to grant him permission, he wants to get help from a "contractor."
Job's simple. Get into warehouse (coordinates attached), steal the security cam footage and bring it back to Aaron. Should be enough to push his case through. And if you happen to shoot a few Maelstromers along the way, well... shit happens, right? World won't be worse off without them, that's for sure.
- Get inside the warehouse.
- Find the computer with the footage.
- Retrieve the footage from warehouse.
- Bring the footage to Aaron.
- Defeat Aaron.
