Cyno is a 5-star Electro Polearm Character in Genshin Impact. He is going to get a rerun in the 3.5 version of Genshin Impact. Overall, Cyno is considered an upgrade to Razor, with the ability to infuse his attacks with Electro to deal consistent damage throughout the duration of his Burst mode.
In this article, Gurugamer.com is going to showcase a complete Genshin Impact Cyno build guide.
1. Genshin Impact Cyno Build
Best weapons for Cyno
Staff of the Scarlet Sands > Primordial Jade Winged-Spear > Deathmatch R5 > Staff of Homa > Blackcliff Pole R5 > Calamity Queller > Deathmatch - One Enemy > White Tassel R5 > Deathmatch > Blackcliff Pole - 3 stacks > Vortex Vanquisher > Blackcliff Pole > Missive Windspear R5 > Moonpiercer R5 > Skyward Spine > Moonpiercer > Kitain Cross Spear R5
Overall, the best weapon for Cyno is expectedly the weapon banner spear that was designed for him, the Staff of the Scarlet Sands. If players like Cyno and want to main him, it is best to try to pull for this weapon after getting him in the character banner.
- 5 Star Polearm
- Base Attack 44.34 - 541.83
- Substat: 9.6 - 44.1% CRIT Rate
Heat Haze at Horizon’s End
The equipping character gains 52% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, the Dream of the Scarlet Sands effect will be gained for 10s: The equipping character will gain 28% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. Max 3 stacks.
Outside of this weapon, most of the others are paid only and hard to obtain. Players can settle for either the Blackcliff Pole R5 or the White Tassel R5.
Cyno Main Stat
Electro DMG% goblet and Crit circlet always. EM sands are better most of the time, it heavily depends on the weapon and even if Atk% sands are better, the difference is less than 1%. Higher base ATK = less EM. Target personal EM most of the time is between 250-400 depending on the weapon.
Best Artifact Sets for Cyno
- Thundering Fury >> Thundersoother > Gladiator >= Gilded Dreams
Overall, with Cyno focusing on Electro DPS, players can just stick with the Thundering Fury set for the best damage. Cyno relies greatly on Aggravate reactions and his E spam, which Thundering Fury is best at providing. If you can farm the best stats for it, the Thundering Fury set is your only choice for optimal damage.
Thundering Fury
- 2-Piece: Electro DMG Bonus +15%
- 4-Piece: Increases DMG caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Superconduct, and Hyperbloom by 40%, and the DMG Bonus conferred by Aggravate is increased by 20%. When Quicken or the aforementioned Elemental Reactions are triggered, Elemental Skill CD is decreased by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.
Thundersoother
- 2-Piece: Electro RES increased by 40%.
- 4-Piece: Increases DMG against opponents affected by Electro by 35%.
2. Best Constellation for Cyno
Overall, no constellations are really essential for Cyno - he can already unlock the majority of his damage at C0. However, if you manage to pull a second or third copy of him, his effectiveness would be improved moderately.
His C1 and C2 are fairly decent as they both increase his damage:
Ordinance: Unceasing Vigil
After using Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness, Cyno’s Normal Attack SPD will be increased by 20% for 10s. If the Judication effect of the Ascension Talent Featherfall Judgment is triggered during Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer, the duration of this increase will be refreshed.
You need to unlock the Passive Talent “Featherfall Judgment.”
Ceremony: Homecoming of Spirits
When Cyno’s Normal Attacks hit opponents, his Normal Attack CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will be increased by 3% and 6% respectively for 4s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s. Max 5 stacks. Each stack’s duration is counted independently.
3. Best Cyno Team Comps
With Cyno being an Electro DPS, there are quite a few ways to build a team for him.
Cyno Aggravate team
- Cyno + Electro + Dendro + Flex
Aggravate teams require a 2nd Electro character for Cyno to Burst consistently without compromising his damage.
Character | Description |
Electro: Fischl / Beidou / Yae Miko / Kuki Shinobu / Dori | Electro units that provide particles along with either damage or utility for Cyno. |
Dendro: Dendro Traveler / Collei / Nahida | Dendro units capable of off-field Dendro application. DMC needs enough ER to Burst every rotation. Collei can opt to use Burst every other rotation and still provide basically full Quicken duration for Cyno’s fieldtime if she is C2+. Nahida’s Skill alone is enough to maintain full Quicken uptime throughout Cyno’s field time. She also provides Cyno with additional EM through her A1, increasing his reaction damage. |
Flex: Zhongli | Strong shielding to minimize time taken for dodging, decreases 20% Elemental RES of opponents. |
Flex: Kazuha / Sucrose | Able to provide Cyno with DMG boosts in the form of Electro DMG Bonus/EM. 4pc Viridescent Venerer holders. |
Cyno Quickbloom team
Quickbloom teams feature Hydro characters with slower Hydro application, which allows for high to full Quicken uptime with additional damage via Cyno triggering occasional Hyperblooms.
- Cyno + Hydro + Dendro + Flex
Character | Description |
Hydro: Barbara / C6 Candace / Mona / Kokomi | Slow, yet consistent sources of off-field Hydro application. |
Dendro: Dendro Traveler / Collei / Nahida | Dendro units capable of off-field Dendro application. Both DMC and Collei need enough ER to Burst every rotation. Collei’s Skill-only Dendro application may not be enough to maintain good Quicken uptime depending on the Hydro application involved. Nahida’s Skill alone is enough to maintain full Dendro uptime throughout Cyno’s field time, allowing for Quicken and Hyperbloom triggers. She also provides Cyno with additional EM through her A1, increasing his reaction damage. |
Flex: Fischl / Kuki Shinobu / Beidou / Dori | Electro units that provide particles along with either damage or utility for Cyno. Kuki, Beidou and Dori can provide sustain if Barbara/Kokomi aren’t used in the Hydro slot. Kuki may trigger occasional Hyperblooms, but as she can be built with full EM, this is not an issue for team damage. |
Flex: Zhongli | See description in the Aggravate section above. |
Flex: Kazuha / Sucrose | Able to provide Cyno with DMG boosts in the form of Electro DMG Bonus/EM. 4pc Viridescent Venerer holders. Note that Absorbing Hydro in their Bursts may not be desirable if optimizing for a Quicken team, as additional Hydro application interferes with Quicken uptime. |
Cyno Hyperbloom team
- Cyno + Xingqiu/Yelan + Dendro + Flex
Xingqiu and Yelan provide fast Hydro application and strong personal damage.
Since Cyno wants an Electro battery to lower his Energy requirements as well as a defensive unit on his team, using Xingqiu/Yelan for Hydro application strongly suggests that an Electro healer/shielder such as Kuki, Beidou or Dori should be used in the last slot. While Yaoyao can serve as the healer of the team, her support capability is inadequate.
