Chinese fighter Wang Cong made her promotional debut at UFC Vegas 96, facing Victoria Leonardo in the first fight of the night. The veteran kickboxer brutally destroyed Leonardo with a powerful three-punch combination. The final strike knocked her opponent, ending the fight immediately.
Cong delivered a fast jab before quickly following up with a wonderfully timed right hand. Both caught Leonardo and knocked her to the canvas in a brutal way. The fight stopped in 62 seconds, giving Cong the fastest debut finish in the history of the UFC women’s flyweight division.
Before tonight, Cong was among the biggest betting favorites of the card (-1100 favorite). The gifted young fighter has an unblemished 5-0 MMA record. She has won her previous four fights, including a win over UFC veteran Wu Yanan and a submission victory over Paula Luna, to earn her UFC contract.
