On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles, led by their Pro Bowl quarterback Jalen Hurts, went against the Arizona Cardinals in their week 17 matchup. The Eagles suffered an upset loss, which eventually resulted in them losing their shot at the No.1 seed in the NFC playoffs picture. Furthermore, following the rough loss, a disappointed A.J. Brown refused to answer the media questions.
During the post-game press conference, the reporters tried to talk with A.J. Brown, but the Eagles’ Pro Bowl pass catcher refused to talk with the reporters.
I'm not about to talk. There's nothing to say.Brown told reporters
Furthermore, the reporters asked Brown whether he plans to address the media later this week, but Brown just shrugged and left his space without giving a definitive answer. Check out the footage of the awkward interview attached below.
As for his performance, Brown had an average outing on Sunday as he caught just 4 passes for 53 yards and 0 touchdowns. The Eagles quarterback failed to step up in the big game and registered just 167 passing yards, but he did throw for 3 touchdowns and kept the Eagles in the game. However, his one interception proved to be costly in the end.
In the end, the Eagles ended up suffering a 35-31 loss against the struggling Cardinals in an offensive showdown. As previously mentioned, the Eagles lost their shot at the No.1 seed with the loss and are now also in trouble of losing their division title as well.
Sunday was not the first time A.J. Brown has declined to talk to the media. The Eagles receiver did the same thing last week when Philadelphia defeated the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
Following the Eagles’ comfortable victory, Brown — who caught 6 passes for 80 yards in the game — politely declined to talk to the media in the locker room.
I was taught if I had nothing good to say to not say anything. I'll take the fine if I have to.said Brown according to CBS
He continued to decline media requests throughout the week. And now, once again Brown has shied away from answering media questions following his team’s rough loss.
Nonetheless, the Eagles have already clinched a playoff spot with a solid record of 11 wins and 5 losses. They will be playing for the division title in week 18 when they are scheduled to face the Giants again. If the Eagles win their bout and the Dallas Cowboys lose their final game of the NFL regular season, Philadelphia will win the NFC East division.
